Astana and Shymkent add 2–3 days to the Almaty transit. Rates depend on cargo type and density; we confirm the exact figure before departure.
Border crossings
Cargo moves through Khorgos, Altynkol or Dostyk. The crossing is chosen for the specific shipment: queue conditions, cargo type and paperwork all affect which route is fastest on a given week.
